AN ODD-JOB labourer was brought to court on Tuesday over a burglary at a Marsiling Lane flat which led to his accomplice's death fall.
Kamarudin Abdul Hussin, 34, allegedly broke into the fifth-floor flat of Madam Tan Bee Ean, 50, with Rahmat Latiff, 43, last Friday.
Rahmat panicked and escaped via the master bedroom on seeing the flat owner return from her morning stroll.
He landed 15m below with a thud.
Two men were seen carrying the hawker assistant into a car before driving off. He died about an hour later in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Kamarudin was remanded at Jurong Police Division until July 1.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years and a fine.
Personal comment: I feel that one should work for what they want instead of taking other's possession. Even if they manage to take it (for e.g. money), could they spend that money on their conscience? They're not handicapped,so they still stand a chance of being independent and work for what they want instead of committing crimes!
