Japan is using solar power for houses and decided to equip more than 70 percent of the new build houses with solar panel. They subsidies part of the money needed to build solar panel in each household during 1994 to 2005 but they stop cooperating with Q-Cells a Germany company due to its overtaking Japan's first supplier of solar cells Sharp Corp. The reason they did this was to become a global leader in green energy and also to cut down the emission of greenhouse gas by 60 to 80 percent by 2050. They also decided to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels to improve its green credentials.
Personal View:
Japan had decided to be one of the global leader in green energy is quite an irony because Japanese use about 30 billion plastic bags a year an amount equivalent to a full day's worth of crude oil imports and they lose tens of thousands of umbrellas on trains every year.But still they decided to cut down the amount of greenhouse gas produce by them and save the mother earth which is sick and it is one of the reason why temperature in Singapore is rising and floods occurring over the world.
