Gamblers spent estimated $4.2b on 4-D

Singaporeans gambled away billions of dollars last year , with the bulk of bets going towards 4-D lotteries , according to a Straits Time check.About $1.9 billion was wagered on horse races and $535 million spent on Toto in Iras' last financial year.The study found that more people see 4-D and Toto as leisure activities, a trend witnessed by counselllors.They have become easier for people to part their money , say experts. There are now 309 Singapore Pools outlets and the betting operator also takes wagers over the phone."Many gamblers believe their lucky number will( come around ) soon," said Mr Charles Lee."So , they bet on the same set of numbers their whole life."

Honestly , i do not understand why adults like to bet on 4-Ds , Totos and things like that to earn easy money . Are they just trying to play on it or trying their luck to get more money? I seriously dislike people who gamble too much. It makes me feel so irritated and wondering why would they be so stupid . They should have consider on how much they have spent on bets than on winnings. In the first place , why would goverment want to open Singapore Pool yet wanting Singaporeans to stop gambling ?
